UK & USA Two Countries Divided By Uncommon Language
loozegear.com Designer wear,handbags and purses.
Moving here from London 9 years ago I knew that life in America would be different but I hadn’t realized to what degree.Although Brits & Americans speak the same language we don’t always speak the same lingo.
Previous to living here my education in all things Americana consisted of two dozen episodes of Frazer, a minor in Friends and a major in Disney World, qualifications that were akin to an ice cream salesman foolishly following Robert Scott’s footsteps to the South pole.
So when it came to operating in the real world the differences between our two cultures really became apparent.Although we speak the same language the words don’t necessarily have the same meaning ,prime example: the word fanny here in the US refers to somebodies backside, in the UK it refers to the female front side.
Here is a list of a words and phrases in no particular order that both American’s and Brits might find useful upon a visit to London Or New York
